Twinning Project launches at HMP Lowdham Grange prison with Mansfield Town

Mansfield – 27.06.2024

Mansfield Town Community Trust is delighted to announce the launch of its first Twinning Project delivery at HMP Lowdham Grange prison.

The project will run for 5 weeks, twice a week starting on the 2nd July 2024 and the group will consist of 16 participants. Through the initiative the club, in conjunction with other football bodies, will work with PE officers from the Prison Service to deliver coaching, stewarding, lifestyle skills, and other employability-based qualifications to prisoners to help them prepare for release.

Launched in October 2018 and supported by the UK’s leading clubs and footballing bodies, the Twinning Project aims to support prisoners whilst in custody and on release to help prepare them to find work outside of prison and reduce the likelihood of reoffending.

Health and Wellbeing officer Mike Kasinowicz: "We are extremely excited to start this provision. We have worked with Twinning Project and representatives of HMP Lowdham  to make this happen. We all believe it's going to be very beneficial for all participants. We hope to create long lasting relationship with HMP Lowdham Grange and Twinning Project which will positively impact lives in our community''

Mansfield Town director and Community Trust Trustee Paul Brown: "We are looking forward to working with HMP Lowdham Grange with the Twinning Project and we hope this will give serving prisoners something to consider on their release to avoid them reoffending in the future."
