Mansfield Town Community Trust is delighted to announce the launch of new project at Sherwood Oaks Hospital.
The provision is split into blocks, each lasting 6 weeks with the last session of each block being delivered outside Sherwood Oaks Hospital. Over the course of 8 months, we will deliver multi-sport sessions to various wards at Sherwood Oaks Hospital.
Fran from Live Team asked about the idea for this provision said: "We’ve decided to partnered with MTCT due to needing an increase of the physical activity project, as well as part of the Be Active funded project that we are working on to support connections with local physical activity based partnerships.
We aim to increase the offer of different types of physical activity, as well as that connection and therapeutic relationship building for our service users to access services better when in the community."
Asked about their relations with Mansfield Town Community Trust Fran said:
"Very good partnership working, reliable and trustworthy. I think it’s great to have the link with a community provision within the local area that offers multiple services and has the knowledge and experience to support our service users.
I would absolutely recommend MTCT to others! I think there are a great organisation and partnership to work with and know about. So far, many of our service users discuss the Mansfield Town groups and what they offer and are always asking when they are coming back."
Head of Healthier Communities Mike Kasinowicz said: "We are delighted to be able to announce this provision. We have attended Sherwood Oaks Hospital earlier this year where we delivered multi-sport sessions at two male wards. Sessions were well received by the clients. Over course of few weeks, we were able to create relationships with the participants and help them to increase number of physical activities they were taking part of help them to improve general wellbeing too."
"I’m very glad that we were able to expand this provision to other wards which will enable us to reach and support even more people. We always look for a new ways to connect with as many local groups and organisations as possible so we were delighted with the idea of long-term provision at Sherwood Oaks."
