Saturday 6th January saw Mansfield Town Football Club's fixture against Crewe as the designated fixture for Enlighten The Shadows, as well promotion for Men's Mental Health groups Bottled Up Blokes and Sands United FC Nottingham.
Enlighten the Shadows managed to raise a fantastic £181.88 at the game thanks to the kind generosity of the fans, which will go towards more promotional material which will help spread their fantastic work, as well as funds towards renting the pitch and room hire for our 'Come for a kick about?' session, which is held every other Monday at Oak Tree Leisure Centre. These types of donations allow us to provide these free sessions for all adults across the Mansfield area! We'd like to thank everyone who was involved to make the day a great success, and a thank you to the Mansfield Town players who kindly wore the shirts during the warm-ups.
We would also like to thank Bottled Up Blokes and Sands United who also attended the game to support ETS, who also had the opportunity to talk to fans around the ground about the importance of Men's Mental Health. Our next "Come for a Kick About?" session will be taking place on the 22nd January, a free one hour football session for men aged 18+, with a safe space for men to talk for half an hour after the football. We hope even more new faces will join us then! You can book onto the next session by clicking here
