Before kick-off in our match against Northampton, Bradley Giles received a surprise announcement—he had been named our Premier League Community Captain for the 2024/25 season. This prestigious award, part of the Premier League’s More Than A Game campaign, recognises Brad’s outstanding dedication and impact within the Premier League Kicks programme.

Brad’s journey with us began as a participant in our Post-16 programme, where his passion for community work quickly became evident. After graduating, he secured an apprenticeship with the Mansfield Town Community Trust, laying the foundation for his career in community outreach. Now, as Community Outreach Officer, Brad plays a pivotal role in expanding and enhancing the Premier League Kicks programme, ensuring more young people benefit from its opportunities. Following staff departures, Brad has stepped up into a leading role, demonstrating his commitment and ability to drive the programme to new heights. His connection with participants is second to none, and his ability to inspire those around him is a testament to his dedication.

Beyond his work with Premier League Kicks, Brad is a familiar face on matchdays, helping to coordinate mascots and flag bearers to create unforgettable experiences for young fans. His commitment to the community goes even further—late last year, he took on an incredible 77km charity walk from Huddersfield to the One Call Stadium, raising vital funds for our mental health programmes. During the challenge, a special video message from Mansfield Town’s Deji Oshilaja gave him an extra boost, and in a fitting full-circle moment, Deji was on hand to help present the Community Captain award on Friday night, alongside Mansfield Town director and Community Trust trustee, Paul Brown.

Brad’s dedication, leadership, and passion for making a difference embody the very spirit of the More Than A Game campaign. His recognition as Community Captain is well deserved, and we couldn’t be prouder of the impact he continues to make.

Bradley Giles is one of more than 100 people across England and Wales being celebrated through the Premier League More Than A Game campaign for their work in Premier League-funded community programmes. You can read more about More Than a Game here
